CHOICES

Often I wonder

about the road not taken

Often I wonder

about the wanderer

Does it matter in the end

that the destination was different?

The choices made

revealed failings only too well

warts and all, a mirror held to my face

Life – what is it that you seek to teach

where is it that you want me to reach?

Don’t I know only too well

that I have to try

though I might fail

an imperfect soul impaled –

by even more imperfect

Choices.

    Dear Anjali,

I like this a lot. Thank you for it.

Our steps do often feel unsure, and yet we must walk.

    All good wishes,

love it Anjali. I often wonder about the path I take in life…why should it be perfect? and who decides if it is or not?

  5. Hi Anjali, lovely poem. Have you tried reading any of your poetry backwards, line for line? This one reads well frontwards and backwards. Hope you decide to join us over at OctPoWriMo.com (a month of poetry in October), your poetry would be a nice addition.
